Washing Day

Today I had one of those moments when I wished I'd had a camera with me and didn't. Coming back to the university after lunch I found the trees in front of our faculty building dressed with shirts and longjohns... Someone had been doing some washing and figured that the trees provided quite a good place for hanging the clothes to dry. I would have love to have seen them, standing knee-deep in the flower bench, reaching up with a long bamboo pole (i assume) to get the washing up.

There's an idea for others to try out.

Freezing hot

The weather here seems to be having serious identity problems and can't quite make up its mind of what it's supposed to be. From over 30C to below 10C in just a couple of days. The result is that just when you've come to terms with it being warm again and go out in a t-shirt, you are greeted with icy rain. And when you go back in to change into a thick jumper and wintercoat, by the time you come back out it's beach holiday hot again.

The Chinese, however, don't seem the least bit puzzled by all this.
